I have a coralife aqualight T5 HO Lunar one 48 inch and a EB8 and EB4. I tried plugging in EB8 (4 and 8) and both on it trips my GFCI.. I tried plugging it in EB4 (1 and 2) same thing trips GFCI.. Should I try one in EB8 and one in EB4?

I am confused on why it's tripping the GFCI.. I tested light without GFCI and works fine..

Could it be the gfci itself? I'm going to try plugging eb8 and lights in regular outlet if that works anything I can do?

Is the gfci a wall plug? Or is it one that plugs into a socket? If the latter I would suspect the gfci

Maybe the gfci is not grounded? How can I check

Does everything work when plugged into a non gfci? If so what kind of amp draw do you have? Again is the gfci a wired plug in the wall or an added type between eb8 and wall plug?

I will try it in a regular outlet when I get home. I put it in its inside the wall

Ok I checked it in the regular outlet it works fine. So maybe the GFCI ground is messed up? I am thinking of just replacing it with the old outlet. The box makes a very tight fit with the GFCI. Ugh

OK I read a article on GFCI. Hmm I think this is my problem. I only had white and black wires coming from receptacle so I added the ground wire and screwed it in the box. I read that this is wrong and the ground will be open. I should get a gfci meter and check I guess. I was told either run a new wire for ground or just label NO EQUIPMENT GROUND. However, what does that actually mean exactly? im confused lol

If your house isn't running 3 wires to the plugs then you need to run a central ground. Gfci requires a ground wire to interrupt the circuit
