Tile is ceramic; so are a lot of frag plugs. It wouldn't hurt anything, but I wonder about the aesthetics. A lot of people use HDPE board. It's the stuff they make kitchen cutting boards among other things out of. You would have it cut to size, and make sure that with the dimensions cut the board would insert into the tank and be removable.

I use starboard. HDPE. Used a circular saw to cut it to fit my jbj 28g. Great stuff.

The product in the link is travertine tile - the chemical make up is CaCO3.
The chemical make up of the Aragonite substrate many of us use is also CaCO3.
If you use it, I would it as any other dry limestone ( also CaCO3 ) especially for leaching.
Do some reading on 'cooking' live rock.
