Hello all,I am currently setting up a 35g cube, I plan on using all dead rock with a small piece of coralline encrusted rock to seed. My question is do I need to cycle the dead rock in a separate container like a garbage can first? Or can I just add water and bio spira and do it in the aquarium? What are the advantages to both? And will adding the bio spira really cycle the tank in a day or so like people claim or will this all still take a few weeks or a month? Also once the cycle is done is it a good idea to add copepods and amphipods before adding fish to gain a healthy population? Any advice would be appreciated thanks!

I would just add the live rock to the tank and let it cycle since there is no livestock in it. Not sure about the bio spira, I've never used it. I would add the copepods to the sump if it has a refugium as well as some to the tank. You can add them either before or after fish but if after do it when the lights are off (or anytime to the refugium.
