I got a small Tomini Tang off Live Aquaria.
I've tried Rod's, Seaweed Extreme pellets, Life Spectrum pellets, mysis, Omega One Seaweed strips.....
He wants to eat, but when he takes a bite of anything, he just spits it out.
I've had him for 2 weeks and he's looking more frail.
All my other fish are eating - Midas Blenny, McCosker's Wrasse, Flame Angel, Mandarin, Oscellaris Clown.

Maybe try New Era grazing rings? My Kole tang went nuts over them when he was in QT. Tomini tangs are from the same genus.

+1^^^. Also, IME, I know some Bristles do not go for the Nori Seaweed sheets, but some do. You can try and see if he will eat that.
Live blackworms. Very hard for fish to resist them. These work better than anything else in getting fish to eat.

Ya my Mandarin eats black worms along with Rods, mysis and even pieces of silversides.
My concern is getting some plant matter in the Tomini.
Isn't it crucial that he gets greens?
It's crucial you get him eating. Worry about what later.

LRS just came out with a new kind of food for finicky eaters, maybe try that too

So he's been constantly pecking at my short thick growing hair algae. It doesn't appear that he is really ingesting anything. Once in awhile I'll see him rip off a big chunk and then spit it out and it floats away. Do they eat this stuff or just mess/play with it?

He should eat it. Try live foods like the others said or soak some PE Mysis in garlic solution. That might get him to eat

I'd keep a colony of live brine on hand for the time being, and maybe try some live caulerpa, this has worked pretty well in the past for me with Naso and Zebrasoma. He should start eating prepared eventually, just wprry about sustaining him for now. Good luck

He's eating great now. All the sudden he just started eating pellets and Rod's. Took him a couple weeks but he doesn't even hesitate now.
