The day has finally come to join the elite... "Large Reef Tank" club thread.....I will be moving from a 150g (48x30x30) to a 243g 72x30x26 :bounce3:.

I will be keeping all of my existing equipment to my 150g when I make this upgrade. The big question for me is lights!! I've always had halides & T5's and I'm pretty sure I will go in this direction. In keeping with this theme, can you please give me your recommendation of a Halide/T5 combo light fixture that would be for a 6 foot tank & hung from the ceiling? I would want a 250w double ended halide.

This will be primarily a SPS dominated take. Price is not a concern...

Thank you for your suggestions...

If your current lighting is working well, why not just simply use them? I hear the radium bulbs are awesome?

I would go with the Geisemann Spectra fixture. Radiums and a mix of ATI B+ & Coral+ for the T5's.

Edit: Make that the Infiniti with your choice of DE bulb.

Great thought but my current lighting is for a completely different size tank. Plus they are built into a hood & im looking for a nice hanging fixture. I've never tried the radium bulbs but also heard great things. I've been a Phoenix user for years.

Thanks for your response. :)

Yeah, I've looked at those & they are beautiful. Have you or are you using those now?

Yes. I used to run a 2 x 150 with 39W T5's on a previous tank. The fixture is gorgeous. Just got tired of the heat and bulbs changes. Running Radions now.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I decided to purchase the Giesemann Infiniti with 250w halides with Luxcore ballasts.

Crystal Dynamic Aquariums. They bought out LeeMar. Out of California. There's a mistype in my dimensions. Should be 72x30x27
