Suggestions on the best HOB filter, PLZ?

I am setting up a 40g breeder frag tank and didnt want all the plumbing hassles of my DT. Was going with (besides a hob skimmer) a Marineland Biowheel but am hearing that its noisy and has some other issues. Any suggestions on a better option? or possibly a canister filter?

No need for a can. Just grab an aquaclear 70 or 110 and run the sponge that comes with it as well as chemipure and call it a day. A hob skimmer would be great as well. Tip... if you get the bigger aquaclear or the aquamaxx hob skimmer you can run a small heater inside either or. I've ran a thriving tank exactly like this before.
