sunpower is broke? need help

So I just bought a sunpower from a fellow reefer but it seems like it may be broke, he said it was fully working and we met halfway between so i had no way to turn it on. I am willing to pay someone to help me fix it back to 100%

I am wondering if you guys have any idea what is wrong. Only some of the bulbs turn on and only some turn on if i twist the bulbs. Some of them have electrical tape behind them and I do not know why. Also he gave me another ati sunpoer 8x80w fixture that he got for free from a fellow reefer that is broke that he just kept and figured he might as well just give it to me in the deal too. only problem is I do not know anything about fixing light fixtures. I would greatly appreciate any help and would pay someone to help me out if they know anything about it

I have attached pictures to here, as you can see he did not take the best care of it either.

I don't know, but I truly hope you didn't pay more than $150 for this!! This fixture is in absolute crap condition :O

Lights won't come if one is bad. Ballast might be bad too. Reflector is trashed.

I paid $500 for both of the ATI sunpowers, 12 bulbs that are 2 months old, 60" reefbrite TECH and 60"reef brite XHO blue led.

Both reef brites are in great shape, I figured if I could fix the ATI for around $200 I got a good deal but idk now


I am probably going to return the ATI sunpowers and pay $250 for both reef brites

I would absolutely return it and keep the brites. The fixture was not well taken care of at all.

well I listened to your advice and returned it.

I kept the brites, now I just have to figure out which reef brite I want to sell.

I apologize haha. I meant KEEP the XHO :P :lolspin:
