Any chance of a larger version of the V2 for a 60" tank?

Yes, 50-V2 (48 Long) coming soon, 1-2 weeks is the ETA.

Will that cover a 60 x 20 tank, 22 inches deep? It would be in a hood, about 6-7 inches off the water.

It will cover that size tank. At that height, you are a bit close. You may want to consider mounting on top of the hood or removing the hood and using the legs/hanging the light.

How high do the legs put the light? Hanging isn't a good option for me.

7-8" off the water, depending on the water level in your tank. The legs put the light up to 7" above the rim of the tank.

If I did remove the hood, do you sell a hanging or mounting kit? I didn't see it on your website. Can you recommend a way to mount them from the wall behind the tank rather than from above?

Hi,

The legs shown in the photos of the light are included, you can mount it to the rim of the tank with the included legs. From the wall behind the tank, you can use a bookshelf, bent electrical conduit, or even hanging plant brackets.

In looking at the specs on the v50, other than the length it appears the same as the 48. Are the LEDs spread out more, or is there more "blank" space on the ends or middle, or.....what exactly is the difference besides the overall size?

The light is 5" longer, this allows the LEDs to be more spread out, it allows for the mounts to fit a 60" tank, and for the light to cover the full 60".

You don't need much extra power to cover the extra foot, but you do need more spread and the ability to use the tank mounts, which is what the 50-V2 adds, and why there is only a $25 difference in price, which accounts for additional materials and shipping cost.

Thanks Logan, I've been a little obsessive in shopping for new lights. I'll probably need to go "hoodless", so I want to be extra careful with my choice.
