Family was excited to see me add a cleanup crew

So I bought a 'cleanup crew' collection of snails (various types) and crabs.
Also came with a bag of spare shells for the crabs.

This turned out to be super entertaining for my kids (7 & 8.5) and wife.

We dumped in the crabs then dropped the spare shells around them. The crabs started to move off in different directions but two of them immediately started checking out the spare shells - then they abandoned the shells they were in and moved into their new homes. Was fun to watch.

The kids were loving the show :-)

Thats very good. Especially if the wife likes the tank then it's easier to bring home the entertainment without having too many questions asked about the cost of the entertainment ;)

It is always nice to have the kids involved.

My wife could give two craps about the tank.

The kids love it though, which is why I even started doing this again.
