Ok so I just tried setting up a BRS reactor that I recently got from a local hobbyist and there is a leak from the lid and the canister. I dont have a sump (my tank is an AIO) and I cant have it leak. Is this normal, and usually not a problem since they are often kept in sumps? Is there any way to fix? Thanks!

unscrew the clear plastic canister. at the top of the canister, next to the threads, you will see a black rubber o-ring . If you replace this o-ring, it should solve your problem. home depot or lowes may have these in stock since they sell these types of units for home drinking water use.

You probably don't even need to replace it - just carefully remove it, clean the groove it sits in, and clean the o ring. Lube the o ring with a very small amount of silicone grease m- just enough to make it shiny, and put it back on. I think that will take care of it for you - those things are pretty much bullet proof in their design.
