I'm starting my aquascape tonight and was wondering what people use to glue their rocks together. Certain rocks i want secured with glue. Also how long after you glue can you fill with water?

Just need a good brand that you know works.

glue/epoxy did not work for me.

acrylic rods work great, just get a masonry drill bit.

where do you buy acrylic rods

you can find them on ebay or amazon or various online specialty plastic stores. You can also cut up plastic coat hangers or find various other things to use. Stiff plastic rods are not hard to find, I bet the dollar store has a dish rack with stiff plastic that would work...

keywords: plastic rods, plastic dowels, cake dowel

Depends what you want to do with the rocks too. I used Water Weld for $5 from HD and it works great to make sure rocks stay where they are or attach smaller rocks to bigger rocks.
It would not work if you wanted to make some crazy structures with the rocks where there is a lot of weight on the pulling on the epoxy.

I use a gravity build, but stick reef putty onto surfaces that just can't manage to mesh right: makes a socket that will hold things pretty solidly.

Look into E-Marco 400 from Marco Rocks...It can be used to do some pretty cool displays.

Acrylic rods, zip ties and the e-Marco rock cement. You can build anything.

I ended up with this aquascape using no glue at all. The egg crate has helped the structure stay super solid.
