I just got my first fish, Amblyeleotris randalli - Orange striped prawn goby, and put him in my QT yesterday afternoon(like 3-4ish). He seemed fine: not frantic, has his sail up, hangs out in a spot for a bit, then swims a little to a new spot to chill. He didn't take any food when I attempted to feed him around 10-11 PM. As a note, i had bought a pistol shrimp with him and the shrimp is in the QT as well.
I wake up this morning and his abdomen, mostly directly above the rectum, on his right hand side is now a light pink color and appears slightly swollen. There is some white stringy along that side as well, but TBH I am unsure if it is poop or something else. I've been searching for any diseases or parasites that would cause such symptoms but I am not finding anything that results in swelling/pink coloration.
I got a pic as best as I could with my cell phone with him in the back corner of the tank. The spot is darker than it appears in the picture. The white specks all over the ground are grains of sand. I had provided a small plate of sand for him and the shrimp to feel comfortable if they wanted and the finer grains of course got kicked up and have settled all over the bottom of the tank.
