😎 Hi all & others,

Can you help ID this coral ?
It is very heavy, orange in color, with what appears to be red poloyps, as well as some sorta shells attached ??
It was connected to a feather duster at the local pet store. Clerk thought it was a rock. She was afraid to remove the feather duster from it, so I gained a new coral at no extra cost. I took her word for it, as I didn't see it till I got home, since it was in the top tank. I'm assuming it prefers low light as that's where a lot of feather dusters are found. Any help or education would be welcomed.

If it's the rounded thing it could be a rock with barnacles attached encrusted by algae or sea sponge. If the whole thing is soft it could be a ball sponge, if it's hard has polyps that are enlongate and have 24 tentacles each it could be a dying goniopora colony with barnacles. I can see any polyps in the photo.

Thank you for your input.
I think the whole thing is a coral. It had a thin soft orange covering with thin lines running all different directions, all over it, with little red polyps coming out of those lines. If you pick it up the red polyps disappear. I will gather more pictures and repost.
