hi i'm italian sorry for my english..
I have a regal angel for 7 years in the reef aquarium,
I'm four days That A big red thing in your mouth and not eats..
I would save it but i don't know the solution.
He will go alone ? I should treat him to another tank ?
And how?
I attach the photos and I really hope you can help me ..
It is like a son to me after all these years
Thank you so much , arnaldo

You could treat in a hospital tank with nitrofuracin green or some antibiotic thats easily available to you. What was the last thing added to the tank? When? Was it QTed?

I added a Heliofungia and chelmon rostratus and holocanthus ciliaris juvenile two weeks ago .. ( the holocanthus disappeared )
unfortunately it is impossible to capture it .. What disease do you think ? You may regress spontaneously ? I also thought that it was something in the mouth..Ma looks more like a rotting .. I do not know what to think and what to do ..

I honestly don't have a clear answer for you. I would guess that something was brought in with the the butterflies or angel. Did you freshwater dip or formalin dip to see if the holocanthus was harboring flukes? Angels usually always have them and they can reside in the mouth but are never red in color (usually translucent and turn opaque after a dip) I think its probably bacterial based on color and would suggest trying to get the fish in a hospital tank with paraguard or something like a antibiotic and see if it helps. Looking at the picture again it appears to be a bleak outlook since it's stopped eating due to the swelling or whatever is happening.

unfortunately I do not have a quarantine tank .. set it up now with live rock and antibiotics kill all bacteria..I have recommended iodine triple dose for three days in the tank ... what do you think ?

I have zero experience with iodine treatments. Maybe someone else will offer some advise.

Appetite stimulant, not a antibiotic. Does a fish store near you carry seachem kanamycin?

It needs antibiotics. Its got an injection. Maybe rotted mouth disease?

Those additions may have introduced something. Most likely the Holacanthus as it seems he died somewhere in the rocks.
The other option could be a wound from a fight.
If the fish still eats I would see how it develops.
Otherwise it is probably best to move the fish into a treatment tank, or at least isolate it in a basket inside the display tank to have quick and easy access to the fish. Pond planter baskets (https://www.google.com/#q=Pond+planter+baskets+) are great for this

I wouldn't use iodine as a treatment in a fully stocked tank.
When I used it in the past I usually applied some diluted iodine solution directly to the wound.

No. It will kill nitrifying bacteria . Only in a hospital tank. You need to buy a small filter and tank and get the fish out. Invest in a QT system and protocol. Whatever was brought in hit the regal first, doesn't mean others won't develop something. We have too many emotions, time and money invested into this hobby not to QT.
