Also for those interested, The light is very Clean. The tracks hold the screws for the fixtures. So you can slide it to where you need it. It has 3 sets of mounting points, I only have two, one on each end.

The color it produces is very pleasant, everything blends in really nice. Not to Yellow not to Blue, just right. This is my 1st Reef Breeders LED, so Im pretty happy with it!

I saw previously your tank is 60" wide. Mine is as well, with a 4 inch wide glass center brace. I'm wondering is the brace would block any light, so I might be better off with two smaller units. Do you have a brace also, and does it block any light? Just wondering if I would need to keep it extra clean.
Also, how's the coverage overall? Did you have any problem programming? These are so much more reasonable than Hydra's, but their software is pretty cool.
One more question, how high above the water to get a good color blend?

HEY REEFTEASER, mine is 60" long I wish it was wide. I have to Braces but not directly in the middle. Also buying 2 fixtures is up to you, Ive had several LEDs above my tank. I like the Photon V2 because its a single plug. Less of a mess for me.

The overall coverage is awesome, no shading for me. Its a really nice looking light, all the attention is in the tank now.

The programming isnt bad at all. But it does come with a "Sunny" "Cloudy" "Moon" mode. These are really just for show. Say someone is coming over to buy frags, and you want the blues on so everything POPs. Then You want to go back to normal, and you just run your manual settings.

If you have more questions, hit the "Qoute" Id be happy to share my .02 Cents

Thanks for the feedback, I've been holding off replacing my lights, but some burn outs are now forcing my hand.
How high off the water did you need to hang it? I have a canopy, and will probably need to cut out the center, but I was wondering if I could get away with just vent holes.
I really like the hydra's, especially for their software, but the cost is so much less with Reefbreeders, I have to consider them. I suppose once it's set up I wouldn't change the settings much, and everyone on this form seems to love them.

Yeah I think you could put some vent holes, but you would need a fan to push the hot air out. My lights are 9" off the water line.

Do the fans on the fixture draw air in or blow out? Doesn't seem to make sense to draw in salty spray.

You know, to be honest. I havent seen or heard my fans turn on. I guess because Im at 30% for the time being. Next week Ill bump it up to 40%.

I cant wait to turn it up a little more. I dont think Ill go past 60%

But it really is a sleek light. I find myself looking at the tank a lot more than the light fixture. I guess it just blends in

Congrats! I think you will like it a lot, I was adjusting my light settings across the kitchen in my living room. Its pretty cool not having to buy another controller, hanging kit, everything was included .
Also nice that I didnt have to hook up my laptop :lol2:

They do draw the air up, since hot air moves up and that is the most efficient way to vent the heat. However, none of the electronics come in contact with the air at any point- the fans blow through to the top of the heat sink, and never get any air inside the actual light.

The fans are also temperature controlled- the entire light is its own aluminum heat sink, so the light often stays cool enough without the fans coming on at all.

Thanks Logan, that makes sense. I shopped my lighting choices for a while, and glad I finally pulled the trigger. Looking forward to getting it!

Im really liking this light, just bumping up to 40%. Its pretty impressive, and I was comparing the leds to other brands. Guess what, same leds. I was on the Cree website, and compared everyones lights to that standard.

Very Cool Specs

what hanging kit is that attached to your tank?

Hey I would make your own. I used aquatic life hanging kit, and ive had it from te start. But 80/20 is cheaper, use that $ on corals or whatever else you need. You would just have to mod it a little.Like drill some holes.
