View Full Version : Dulcimer tang?
My not so LFS has a gigantic tang in a 550g display on sale for 350 bucks. They have it labeled as a "dulcimer tang". I've never heard of this name being used before. Anyone ever heard of one?
It's huge btw. Easily a foot long.
I don't have a pic but I can describe it.
It is large, pretty elongated, brownish/grayish and not very colorful, the fins are very long and flowing, and it has pretty big puckered lips.

Acanthurus dussumieri?
+1 this is what they meant to name it...
Yep that's the one at least the shape is.
The pics on the web make it a lot prettier than the one in the store is. Unless it's just their lighting.
It's crazy fast too. Swims against the wave makers like a treadmill.
Edit:
This pic right here is exactly what it looks like. Nice job guys.

I used to have one. And yes, they get to be waay large. I'm talking 18" no problem.
They can be a bit aggressive too.
Imo, get a fowleri. They are nearly the same in color, but not nearly as big and actually quite docile. I have one and he's the largest in my tank and cares not for anyone. Minds his own business
