Just the footprint. The slim has a slightly slimmer footprint due to the orientation of the pumps inlet and wedge pipe.

The Mini 200 VS13 Extra Slim has a footprint of 220mm x 300mm
See Spec Sheet with detailed dims.

The 200's can handle a heavily stocked 265 without issue. Funny thing is that all too often I hear the term heavily stocked by people who think they have a large load.. A truly heavily stock 250 gallon tank would have in excess of 125" of fish in it or the equivalent of 1/2" of fish per gallon. Most people don't realize that and only think they have a heavy load.

Are you limited on sump space? If not, why aren't you looking at the SM200 or Double Cone 200? Don't get me wrong, the Mini 200 is a GREAT skimmer.

Awesome thanks for the info. I have a 220 with over 35-40 fishes mainly wrasses so wasn't sure if its sized right. It's the only BK that fits my sump.

That explains the choice in the Mini. I had just edited my previous comment in inquire about sump space.. I think you will love the skimmer. It's a great skimmer and the RD3 pump makes it even better. This is by FAR the best space saving skimmer on the market in every aspect and the build quality is second to none. Something you will notice the moment you pick it up. It's made of very heavy material and the RD3 pump is also much heavier compared to competitors DC style pumps. It's truly a no compromise skimmer in very respect.

what size tank will a DC180 be able to run?

I wouldn't recommend the Double Cone 180 on anything over a moderately stocked 180 gallons. The specs say it's rated up to 160 gallons but these skimmers are very conservately rated. You could go larger in terms of tank size with a lighter load.

So best is the mini 200

That would be my suggestion if space is an issue.
