Im gonna throw this out there, but I have a 20g QT. I am looking for a glass lid that has an opening in the back that will allow room for the HOB filter, and any power cords, but yet be sealed off from any jumpers that I may have. I'm assuming there has to be some type of gap for any of the air/gases to escape out of the tank.

I know you can buy the glass tank covers that normally come with the brand new tank, but I don't know how to seal that back section off so no fish can jump out.

Any one offer any advice on what they did to close it up?

I currently have an egg crate fit to the tank, and on top of that, its covered with 1/4" mesh. Within 24 hours of getting my latest addition, I found a carpet surfer. No idea where he escaped from, but would like to seal this issue up! So I'd like to get a perfect fitting lid to avoid any future deaths.

I do something similar with my 29G QT. I just bought a regular glass top and cut the back plastic piece it comes with just enough so it has a snug fit around all sides of the filter box and a tiny cutout the heater cord fits in. A small fish might be able to jump into the downspout of the filter and get washed back into the tank, but that's about it.

While I prefer to use 1/4" mesh held in place with a window screen frame, you cold use acrylic and cut it to fit around whatever equipment you have.
