Dear reefers,

I purchased a Macropharyngodon geoffroy with a damaged jaw, as it quite rare here in the Netherlands to acquire one.

fortunately, it doesn't hinder his ability to eat. He's cruising quite relax within the reef. Next to this he can move and close his jaw.

Please have a look at the attached pictures. The lips of the fish are damaged/gone, hereby exposing his teeth. Will this recover? Or can this be some kind of mouth rot/fungus and should i treat it?

Thanks in advance for your expertise and answers,

Best regards,

Luc

I think you need to get some finer grain sand in there for it to burrow. Borrowing wrasses arrive with damaged mouths pretty often because they try to burrow in the shipping bag.

Absolutely.
