Is this the start of coralife algae or something bad?

I'm just getting over a minor cyano outbreak so everything new has me worried.

Appreciate any help.

If you're talking about those purple specks, yes that looks like coraline starting.

nah thats just the pink stuff in the rock. look on the glass for tiny round translucent plates.

if you want to speed it up (as i can see your tank is very new. pity about the walled hammer) get 2 small live rocks from your lfs that are covered in coraline. and rub them together all over in the tank. this seeds the tank. depending on conditions a week or two and whats that?

This started out as base dry rock and was completely white when it went into the tank. These pink/purple spots showed up over a few days. This pic was taken at night which is why the coral is closed up.

That was on from my last system

my dry rock/pukani has a fair few of these pink spots. i assumed it couldnt be coraline because i havent introduced anything to the tank yet, only dead shrimp and ammonia. Lights havent even been turned on yet. Would be pretty cool if it is coraline though.
