120g vertical drain to sump with durso tube. I have drain pipe extend below water line in sump but sounds like washing machine with all the bubbles. If I end the pipe above the sump water line it sounds like waterfall. How can I minimize noise?

How much water are you pumping thru the sump?

Do you have a way to regulate the air in the durso standpipe? There's a sweet spot for quiet operation. Turnover and air adjustment.

Can u cut down the drain line so it's only a inch or 2 below the water line?

Can you slow down your return pump?

The drain pipe should only be an inch or 2 below the water line in the sump. It will cut down on the washing machine noise. Your making the bubbles travel way to far before they pop, hence the loud noise.

Did the same thing on my 80, once I cut the pipe shorter, it quieted down quite nicely.

I gave up and converted to a Herbie style overflow. Silence is golden.

At least Herbie is the way to go, if you can't go the bean animal route.
