After being out of the Saltwater community for the past 5 years I decided I missed my little friends. After finding an RSM 130D setup on Craigslist, I decided it was time to start back up. I set the tank up in the garage running vinegar water for a week to clean all the parts and test for leaks. Over the last weekend I moved it into the house and filled up and tested out all the cool parts like Radions and Vortechs.

Now ready for some life, I contacted Tampa Bay Saltwater about their package, and Richard told me to wait 3 days for the salt mix to settle before adding part 1. Well yesterday part 1 arrived and I must say all the reviews are spot on. I opened each box with anticipation of what I would find inside and was never disappointed, Everything smelled as if it just came out of the Ocean. The sand was a great mix of sugar fine partials with shell and rock rubble. The rock was pure purple covered with Coralline and the perfect size for my 130D. It took about 6 hours for the water to clear and once it did I found at least 1 brittle star and I can hear the pistol shrimp firing off.

12 hours in tests came back with no ammonia and nitrates at 5. Way to go Tamp Bay Saltwater, can't wait for part 2.

Part 1 has been set and waiting for the tank to cycle. Looking to stack rock from corner out like a rockfall. This should give me lots of rock space to add corals.

Good start! I love TBS rock, and not just because I'm local. Lot of really cool stuff comes in on it.

Yeah I didn't do it this way the 1st time I started and decided this time I was going to try. the reviews have been spot on.

I never heard of a decorator urchin, I spent the 1st couple days thinking the shells were stuck in his spines, so I removed them Haha..

Part 2 arrives today more pics to come.
