Interested as well... I seem to have an issue with my first canister with GFO in it... the bottom tends to have an issue tumbling. So based on that... I think the first canister flows down the middle and out the sides and the 2nd canister comes in the sides and up the middle and out to your sump... Just my guess.

The second flow direction pic you posted is correct. The water will flow the same way in each canister. :)

How much GFO are you running in yours? What pump are you running the reactor on, and how much of a distance is there between the pump and the reactor?

Don't want to hijack thread...

Using Cobalt Aquatics MJ1200 with the provided tubing. Using GFO ganular and around 90g of water including display and sump.

Another question is do you use the pads in the GFO canister?

Ok, everything sounds fine there. It is possible that the pads are reducing flow prematurely. I would recommend removing the bottom pad on the GFO side and giving that a shot.
