RO filter issues

Hello everyone, i'm hoping you can help me out with an issue. I recently added a mechanical float switch to my ro reservoir and also an auto shut off switch on my ro unit. When the float switch triggers the ASO to shut down the water stops running to my reservoir as expected but my ro unit continues to produce waste. I've let it produce for up to 30 minutes before shutting it off manually in hopes that the system was just bleeding off pressure down the waste line but the waste line never stopped flowing. Below is a diagram of how i have the ASO plumbed. Am i missing something? Do i have something plumbed wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So the differences on my system, I don't have a check valve or flow restrictor and my gauge is before the ASO. I was under the impression from my LFS I didn't have to have the check valve or flow restrictor. Do you think the position of the gauge will make a huge difference?

I thought I might have had the low side and high side flipped so I changed it around to verify and I had it right the first time.

Yes you want the check valve and deff need the flow restrictor. The check valves are sometimes hidden in the elbow comming off the membrane houseing.

The flow restrictor you need to flush the membrane and to only alow a certain amount of water go through the membrane otherwise you will prob get a bad rejection rate and the unit wont work properly.

I'd just shutoff the supply to the whole thing.. I've never had good luck with ASOV valves actually doing their job for some reasons..

you can unscrew the elbow and you should see a piece of metal in it. on the housing you'll have one side that has 2 elbows on it, one of them should have it in there. just make sure you put it back in the same spot.
