DIY Overflow noise

Hello everyone!

So I have a Mr. Aqua 12 gallon long. I have 4 holes drilled into it, two on each far end. I have two 1" drains and two 1/2" returns.

I just put a screen over the two drains and let the tank drain that way but it is very loud with a lot of gurgling. Is there a way to stop that?

short of redoing the whole thing to a proper overflow setup your only option is really to reduce the amount of flow through the system..

you might try to down turned elbows on each drain inside the tank..
But its really an inferior overflow system that you have there and noise comes along with that..

I've created a 50mm pipe overflow, very cheap and extreme quiet!!!
*better than my noisy manufactured Skimz Overflow
