Hoping someone can id this one, but I'm not sure if this enough of the body to tell. Its inly the second time I've seen it since the tank has been set up about 3 months ago. Came in some live rock from Tampa bay saltwater, so it's from the gulf of Mexico if that helps.

Thanks in advance!

That looks like a mantis to me. Congrats. I would love to have one in my refugium.

Yes definitely a mantis. I'm hoping its enough of the body for one of the experts to identify it, as I'd like to keep it if possible. Just need a species i.d. so I can do some research on care.

Awesome thanks!

Just feed him raw shrimp...and he will be a happy camper...wennerae don't mess with tank mates if well fed. I keep them here in little 6x6 inch cubes, with fish and porcelain crabs...never an issue with them, the most docile of the mantis shrimps out there..
