View Full Version : Thin t5 bulbs?

I bought this cheap t5 light fixture for my 20 gallon im trying to bring back from the dead and when it came in the bulbs were really really thin, and idk what size they are but ik they run at 24 watts, and i want new ones in different colors and im not exactly sure how to look them up to find more, can anyone help me please!!!!!!

You should be able to replace them with any 24" t5 bulbs.

All t-5 bulbs are the same diameter just make sure you get the correct wattage, because there is regular t-5 and t-5 HO (high output)

Thank yall but its really weird maybe one is a t8 and ones a t5 but ill post a picture of size difference and a water bottle for reference

Thank you for that, I was so confused, i didnt wanna order all new bulbs and it come in as the big one

must have been a DIY fixture, I would deff check your ballast and see if it can handle 2 T5 bulbs, if it can just switch out the endcaps and run 2 t5's instead of 1 of each. also make sure to get a good reflector, for T5's you want individual reflectors for each bulb, that is what makes T5's work so good

I think he just has the t-8 pictured for a size comparison but that would be pretty funny if the light did have one of each
