Thanks, that was a helpful thread. Is there any disco ball effect like radions? I really like the t5-like diffused lighting. Can these be hung around 6" from the water? It seems like they're designed to hang pretty high up.

Call Lighthouse Aquatics they're number is 1760 342 6828 they are a maintenance company that also has a LFS and one of the guys is very knowledgeable of the product, he can help you. PS I buy frags from them at the Frags swaps.

That's good to hear. I see the Atlantik V3+ has just released. How much are these lights and what's the spread? I just sent an email but haven't heard back yet. I wish there was more info on these lights.

That's what I have. Advertised spread is up to 48".

How wide is the spread? 48" by what? I wonder how high it needs to be to get that, because I'm pretty height limited.

Does it look natural? Not super blue and bright enough?

Do you mind posting the price?

For price you need to hear back from Orphek team. Spread I believe is 48"x24", need to be about 24"-30" above water for that and par ofcourse will go down.

My setup, lights are 10" above water level. I am running an Elos 160 tank, lights are at about 65%.

I'm about to pull the trigger on 6 Atlantik V3+ compacts, unless someone has first hand experience to point me in another direction.

Appreciate the help!

HippieSmell

Nope, 78"x36"x27" tall. It's for a new build.

Anyone? I've always had metal halide. Not sure what to expect with these fixtures and they aren't cheap

They aren't on the website yet, but they're basically smaller versions of that one

very nice looking lights.
Have you seen them?

I have seen the smaller version of those, are you saying smaller in dimension or power. The smaller units are very costly and not cost effective when getting a lot of them, how bout getting 3 of the ones posted. I believe that smaller ones are for cubes.

They're slightly over half the size of the large ones. He ended up selling them to me at half the price of the large ones, too. So, better coverage and slightly more power this way, at the same price. I'll also be able to angle them inward to reduce shadowing since I'll have six of them.

Edit: The compacts are slightly over half the size and power, with essentially the same layout.

I'm still building my setup, unfortunately. I'm close to finished and I'll post impressions as soon as I can. All I can say is they look like a quality fixture and shipping went well.
