Hey all!! I'm new to the forum and the reefing community in general. I have had my tank up and running for 6 months and everything has been going great. Its a 38 Gal tank with 50lbs of live rock and 40lbs of live sand. All my levels are great 0 nitrates, 0 nitrites, 0 ammonia, 8.1ph. I have 1 watchman, 1 royal gamma, 1 blue reef chromis, 1 clown, and 1 six line. All the other fish are doing great and no sign of stress/disease. I did remove the goby and put him in a QT tank. I been trying Maracyn 2 on him with no luck. im attaching a pic. Some help would be great...

When was the last fish added, and what is your quarantine protocol?

The last fish added was the sixline about 6 weeks ago. I QT all new fish and corals before they go into the display. I usually QT the new arrivals for 7-14days. I did add a flower pot coral about 3 weeks ago to the display tank.. normal QT with that coral.

Looks kind of like an abrasion from the picture... May just need some time to clear up. Running an antibiotic can't hurt and will help make sure it doesn't get infected, if that's the case.

I was think it could be something like that. Even a heater burn or maybe one of the newer corals stinging him at night. The spot doesn't appear to be getting worse. I also think taking him away from the cleaning shrimp was a good thing because the cleaning shrimp was always working on that spot it might have been making it worse..

I am back from vacation and he was doing great in the QT tank. My mother in law was feeding him and giving him the Maracyn 2 for 10 days. It appeared to be all cleared up and I put him back in the main display tank and now the same spot appears to be back. Im wondering could the cleaner shrimp be doing it to him trying to clean him? Im at a lose for what is causing it on him....
