Have had a royal gramma in QT for a little over 3 weeks 5 days ago it started to flash only on its left side of its mouth more so then the gill area. Its flashing about once every hour or so. Its not attacking its reflection. If its flukes I used prazipro the first week as a preventative and did dose it again 3 days ago. Water parameters are excellent and it eats like a pig. My question is if its ich how long before visable spots appear since its been flashing for about 5 days now? If its flukes how long with prazipro being used again until it stops flashing? Or is it nothing at all and its just got an itch?

I had 3 grammas in a QT for 6 months. After 6 weeks they showed some ich, but it went "away" on its own after 2 to 3 waves. Even the scratching almost went away, but they still had a very low level ich infection going.
Grammas are fish that can develop enough immunity to not show significant symptoms, but are rather unlikely to develop full immunity.

Flashing been going on for 5 days but very infrequent so why have I not seen spots yet?

For now it's likely confined to the gills - quite common with partial immunity.

The less pleasant alternative would be a velvet infection. That one usually only shows on the skin when the infection is well advanced.

Actually 48 hours into prazipro tonight and alot less flashing then last night. So maybe it was flukes. It says you can add more after 3 days but doesn't say to do a water change first. Should I do a water change first then add or just add it tomorrow night? I am encouraged. Praying and fingers crossed!!!
