So this little guy popped up a while back out of no where. It started out as a small spec and has grown to about the size of a quarter. He seems to like the same placement, flow and feedings as my Seabae but I have no clue what it is and was hoping someone could help me out.https://vimeo.com/172832459353388

Looks like a baby plate coral. Does it have a skeleton?

I agree too now that I really look at it. Not sure where it came from but it has been fun to watch. Never seen one attached to a rock like that but I blasted it with a flash light the other night and I believe there's a skeleton in there

Yes, the babies stay attached to the rock. When it's ready it'll detach and find a spot it likes on the sand bed.

I might need to find it a new home since I run BB tanks

Yeah, looks like a Fungia species. These attached babies are a good thing to have as the basis can produce plate after plate if you keep it happy and alive.

That's pretty cool. Kind of like a little plate coral factory. Still not sure where came from because that's a base of a torch that died from brown jelly and I've never bought a plate coral because I heard you had to have sand. Guess I need to read up on there things

Yes +1 deff a plate coral. If ur looking for a new home for ur plate I'd take him in. Also I'c seen plates live on bare bottoms before.
