The tank I'm removing is around 8 or 9 years in. When first set up I had a few snails to clean up various algae that normally show up in the early stages. Through the life I never replaced them as they died off because there wasn't anything they were needed for. I just picked up some to clean the new stuff I'm preparing for the new tank. I put them in the old tank as a holdover till needed. There was one snail still in the tank that is from the original set up. The difference is quite amazing.

I call all my Mexican Turbo Snails tank because anything that isn't glued down or thoroughly glued down gets knocked down. Good algae eaters, but they can be a pain.
