It was a hitchhiker we found in our LR. My husband wanted to keep it, so he now has his own nano tank!

More likely the orangish colored morph of Neogonodactylus wennerae commonly found in live rock coning out of Tampa Bay. It doesn't have the spotted pattern on the front of the raptorial appendages that occurs in G. glabrous and other Gonodactylaceus.

I need some Tampa Bay rock then! Miss the small mantis I had in Okinawa.

Madweazl, did you catch the mantis you had at Okinawa or buy it?

Hitchhikers on rocks that I had collected. Had three Haptosquilla trispinosa (http://arthropoda.southernfriedscience.com/?p=4416) and absolutely loved them. Added so much character to the tank and didnt hurt anything. I've been trying to find a place that I could order some from but havent had any luck (doesnt have to be this species specifically).
