Hi,

Can anyone recommend Formalin type/brand that I can get in the UK. The ones I found avaliable are Yamitsu Pond Medic Formalin Koi Fish but is this safe for marine fish?

It's all about the percentage of formalin in the bottle. Formalin for freshwater and saltwater is the same

37% is what most people use. You can find it here.

Any formaldehyde that's 37% will work. Not familiar with what brands are available other than fishvet

I am also in the UK considering this Pond Formalin option. fishkeeprian did you use it? How did it go? Did you use bath or general tank treatment?

Hello I bought 37% formalin from apc. I use it as a bath on the arrival of fish and in between tank transfers when doing ttm.

37% formaldehyde is formalin

Make sure there are no white flecks inside the bottle. Buy small amounts as the shelf life is not that great and can become toxic (more than normal) when it gets old.
