Good afternoon everyone. Have the light hung around 7-8 inches no sps for now. Whats a good starter intensity setting for custom programming of my Photon V2 48" over my 75 gallon tank.

Also my fans dont seem to come on. They are temperature controlled?

Hi,

Did you read through our FAQ? There is some great info there on how to get started with the new light.

Basically, you want to start with a peak of around 30% (the built in default program does this), then add 10% or so a week to acclimate the corals to the light.

I recommend finding a color combination you like, and starting that off at a lower intensity, then gradually adding power over the course of 1-2 months. Most people run their lights around 60-75% power for a mixed reef tank.

The fans are temperature controlled.

Toyed with the intensities a bit let me know what you guys think of this schedule. For now I still only have mushroom corals zoas a trumpet a hammer and a tyree leather. I'll increase the daytime intensities a bit over the next few months.

Light is about 8" above tank and its a 75g tank

I started off with the pre set program Logan mentioned, with a little personal preference to the lower light colors. After 5 weeks I'm up to 40% on some channels, with a 3 hour peak. My tank has never looked better (mixed, with a few SPS). Growth has increased, colors have changed and improved. I don't know how much more intensity I'll need, if any.
I should have done this sooner.

60 to 75 maxes are enough to kill coral. Just sayin'.
