L1 not maintaining speed

So I have had an L1 on my tank as a return since February running flawlessly at half speed of what is was calibrated to. In the past week it keeps slowing down for no apparent reason I took the pump out cleaned it and still the same thing anyone have any insight for me.
(its is running in the green constant mode)

I believe they have an internal temp sensor.

When they get hot/over temp (some known to) they automatically reduce speed.

This could very well be the issue or an issue with that protective circuit.

Yah my reef maintains 78 rather well and the pump does not seam to feel warm to the touch
