Hydra 26hd height

So I have a reefer 250 3 feet long 21in deep. What is the best height for the hydra 26 to sit at. I hear 6in or 12in I plan on having 2 ,26 hds and what is the best mounting options, tank is set up already and can not use the ext stand mount and do not want to hang from ceiling. I feel like the classic rail system sets the lights too close, so what does everyone think on height and mounting options? And def show me some of your guys set ups would love to see all dyi ,bought or hybrid mounts thanks as always !

8-10" is a good starting point

Found a mounting option rigged the prime mount to work with the hydra sits about 11" highest point, working awesome, now I just have to get another hydra.
