I'm in need for a new return pump and I want a dc pump. I've been looking at the L1 and the waveline 12000. Does reef octopus make a dc pump this size?

Not quite yet, however there is a new Varios model that is slated to be released soon that can move 2700 gph. It's the VarioS-8 and you can find out more here:

Thanks but I don't think that's enough gph for my tank... I do like Reef Octopus products!

How many GPH are you looking for?

I'm looking for around 3000 gph... I'm running a 210 with a 75 gallon sump and a 20 gallon long frag tank and a brs dual reactor and a smr1 bio pellets reactor. Long story but I'm running a deepwater bldc12 now that I'm not happy with at all!

Ok, and I'm assuming you want to stick to DC? I would checkout the waveline pumps as well as you mentioned. The DC12000 or the DC10000II could be good choices.

Do you guys have any long term experience with the L1? I no it hasn't been out that long but...

We are using the M1 on the 160 and love it! My favorite feature is the feed mode. It pumps just enough water into your tank where it doesn't drain down the return line and mess up the level in your sump.
