Hello Guys,

I was on vacation for 3 weeks. While so I leave my tank on a fully automated system that normally does not require any human interference. I used this system before without any problems. However, sometime during that period there was a power outage and once the power got restored, it switched my led timers to the program-1 which is 14 hours full intensity light.

So when I returned from the vacation I found a tank covered with an slimy/brown algae. Before going to the trip I had 5ppm nitrate and 0.05 ppm phosphate. Now they both are undetectable with seachem tests. So what ever is growing sucked up all the nutrients.

I scrubbed the algae on the glass but I cannot remove the ones on the rock. Furthermore, the algae is so slimy that snails cannot stick to the rock and eat it. It kinda looks like a mix of dino, cyanobacteria and maybe calothrix but I am not certain. Do you guys have any idea what this might be?
