Hello RC, I have 5 or 6 Startup SPS that start loosing flesh. Is there any way of controlling this or why is this happening?

Well they simply aren't happy...
This may be water quality related or something else..
correct the problem and they could recover..

They started loosing from various places, My 6x6 motipora is totally gone, I tested water with salifert and exactiDip test kit and readings are as below, I am not sure what is going on, I have other pieces that are doing fine and some are loosing flesh,
Temp -80
Salinity - 1.025
Alk - 6.8
Phosphate 0.05
Nitrate 2

I have a Seriotopera that seems to loose flesh at the bottom. Every other sps coral in the tank was unaffected by whatever it is that might be causing this. Those Birdsnest corals have always been very tricky for me for whatever reason. Xenia too... (go figure)

I noticed you didn't mention anything about where you Mag or Cal levels are. You are testing for Mag and Cal correct? 6.8 on the Alk is a little low, I'd try to keep it at 7.5 on the min, but then again, I've caught mine in the 6.5 area a few times after water changes. Just need to focus on slowly bringing it back to my 8.5 desired level in 2-3 days.

Sorry, Calcium is 449 and Mag is 1280. I have started bringing the alk up slowly but montipora flesh is all gone and it is white skeleton. :-(

Welcome to SPS :p Also, how old is your system?

Your alkalinity is too low which is common in new systems. I would consider correcting it over ~7 days to 8.5-9.0.

Natural seawater is 7 so 6.8 isn't bad I keep mine at 7 and everything is thriving
