After receiving the sock it, a filter sock addon that you hang on the sump, i realized that both it and my skimmer will not fit. I need another solution. I need something small for my grey hose from the drain to attach to and maybe attach a filter sock to. This is a 20 long sump. Any help would be appreciated. Here are some pics.

They make filter socks that have a drawstrings instead of a plastic/metal ring and holder required. You can also make your own. FYI, many people have moved away from full time filter socks and only use them during routine maintenance to polish the water. The drawstring style would take up much less of a footprint as you don't need the proprietary holder to keep it in place.

I am not worried about the filter sock as much as i am worried about being able to attach the grey hose to something when its coming down into the sump.

I use a reverse durso pipe going into my diy glass sump. It made it silent and much less bubbles when I just had a pipe going into the water. http://www.dursostandpipes.com/make-your-own-durso-standpipe

Yeah i have a 3 foot hose, i mean i guess i could cut it and just have it go all straight down, but i was thinking connecting it to something would be a better way to do it.

Can i still use the filter sock addon in chamber one, put all my Seachem Matrix there and then run my Skimmer in section 2, maybe with more Matrix and then section 3 be the return. Any issues with that?

Or should i just say screw the filter so and have the flex tube come straight down in the first chamber with the skimmer.
