Just dosed nitrate, how soon should I test?

Like the title says. Dosed kno3 and wondering how soon to test.
Is an hour after the dose too soon?

As soon as the water circulation distributes the supplement through the system, the nitrate will be measurable. That would be about 10 seconds for my 29g tanks without sumps, etc.
