Hey Reefers,
So I picked up a Ginoporia today. It's been dipped in CoralRx for 10 minutes. Been in my tank for just over and hour and starting to open. I just noticed these hitchhikers on the frag. Anyone know what they are? Apastia?

Had the same thing on on of my plugs a couple months ago. I removed the frag plug just to be on the safe side, in stead of killing the aiptasia!

yep.. aiptasia..
Hit them with some kalk paste or hot water via syringe right in the mouth and hope you kill them..
I mix up my own aiptasia killer when needed..
Prepare stock solution
1. 1 tsp. pickling lime
2. 2 tbls. tap water.
boil water and lime in microwave for 40 sec.
give good stir
keep closed plastic container in cool place.
You want close to a toothpaste consistency so it stays together and coats the mouth nicely.
Suck it up in a syringe and hit em'
A peppermint shrimp will usually also take care of them without resorting to syringe methods but can take some time..

You may still want to dip it a few more times just in case some spores are still on the coral skeleton.

Try berghia, Aiptasia X, kalk paste, or lemon juice

You couldn't see those on the plug when you bought it?

Honestly I wasn't looking for it. Still new to this hobby. Also the plug was further back in their frag tank I wasn't looking at details, the pink was so pretty lol.
I know what to look for now and I'm honestly surprised as this LFS is small an take great pride in their fish and coral. They won't sell any fish unless is been in their QT for 30 days. They even offer to hold them longer if you're interested in them without a deposit.
When I go back I will let them know about the apastia, they might not even know about it.
Also their tanks are all separately plumbed to avoid and disease transfer or spreading and have 5 individual coral tanks.
