View Full Version : Banggai breeding?

I have not bred any fish before but I heard cardinalfish were one of the easiest so I wanted to ask a few questions about it.
1. How do you sex banggai cardinalfish?
2. What foods do you feed the babies?
3. How big should the tank be to raise the babies?
4. Should the baby's tank be connected to the main tank?
5. How hard is it to breed them and raise babies?
Any other information on this subject would be appreciated.

1: How to determine the sex of Banggai cardinalfish (http://www.advancedaquarist.com/blog/how-to-determine-the-sex-of-banggai-cardinalfish)

2: brine shrimp, tigger pods

3: if you ever get there, 10 gallon should be sufficient

4: I wouldn't do it

5: IME they are not an easy species to breed - I had more luck with Clownfish, Marine Bettas and Dottybacks than Banggais. Males tend to eat or drop the eggs prematurely.
