overnight one of my soft corals has some weird brown tips forming on the end.. Looks like algae but Im not sure. I can suck some of it off with a turkey baster until the coral retracts but getting most of it is difficult without the coral hiding. There is another piece of the same type of coral a few inches away and it has none of these growth on it..
A little background on my tank:
-46 gallon bow tank converted for saltwater with a sump
-octopus rh-50 protein skimmer
-light is Hydra HD 2600 set to 60% power (65 watts) for 7 hours a day no red or green spectrum
-The light sits 8 inches above a glass lid to reduce evaporation
-The water has testing clean for nitrates, ammonia, and PH levels
-The tank has been running and cycled for 2 months now on R/O water
Thanks in advance! :)
