Hey All,

My new rectangle trigger is doing very well! Love the little guy a lot. So far I have been feeding him NLS and frozen mysis so far. He does not seem crazy about the frozen mysis. i don't think he likes the small pieces. I also fed him a whole shrimp which he seemed to like. What are some other things I can feed him. I was looking into clams on a half shell. Could I feed him fiddler crabs and shore shrimp? Any other things you guys feed your triggers?

Thanks!

Me humu and niger eat anything and everything. Mysis, brine, flake, seaweed sheets.

Seafood from the market cut into chunks(shrimp, scallops, calamari), if you were talking about live fiddler crabs and shrimp I wouldn't; they would love it but you would just keep him more aggressive by doing so. PE mysis, they are larger; I also cut ocean nutrition cubes like trigger formula and formula one into bite size chunks, also krill and silversides chunked. And yes clams on the half shell.

Thanks for the suggestions I will try the PE mysis the one I have now is too small and messy. I don't mind him becoming aggressive because he is the only fish in the tank. I think a few live items will provide him with a little enrichment.

Wait I thought Krill was bad? Something about lockjaw?

It is, if you feed on a regular basis. My Bluethroat gets it about once a week.

Mine eats anything and everything I put in the tank, even flakes. Right now he is munching on the sheet of algae I just put in for the herbivores!
