My jebao dc3000 has been running as return for two years.
Today I heard loud screeching noise.
Water pressure was not great....sump starts to fill by siphon.

What would be wrong. I don't clean pumps just strong vinegar run overnight every few months.

What could be issue ...? is it impeller? If so can I buy it from here:
Replacement Impeller for Jebao DC/DCT Pump (DC-3000) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FIHLZ62/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_GRt9xb8V5PGA2
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/281698589690

Thanks

I like Jebao products but after 2 years of constant running I think I'd look into just buying a new pump.

I had one do something similar. I took it apart and the magnet had rings of hard stuff that wouldn't rub off. I soaked it in a 5;1 muriatic acid bath for an hour and it was clean as a whistle and ran fine.

Hi Ron! Long time...[emoji3]
So magnet in the impeller?
Where can I get muriatic acid locally and Will 100% vinegar work similar?
Thanks much...

Yes, the cylinder shaped magnet that is the impeller shaft. Cleaning inside the pump is probably a good idea as well.

A 10:1 mix of muriatic acid is about the same, maybe a bit stronger than straight vinegar. And I think the muriatic acid is cheaper (after a 10:1 mix) as well as offering the opportunity to make it a bit stronger.

Great info.
Will 10:1 ratio of muriaric acid (hcl) damage any plastic or silicone or stuff that's in pumps?

About to buy the acid from HD.
THANKS
