Can anyone identify this?

It was sold to me as a frogspawn but I know for a fact that it is not. My initial thought is that it is a torch coral in extreme distress. What are your thoughts?

The frogspawn was attached to the same rock as the hammer. Thats a trumpet coral(candy cane)
