Do watchmen Gobies get ick

Im thinking of getting a watchmen and pistol shrimp and wondered about the QTing side of things.

I read somehere certain fish like gobies to not have scales and will not get ick?

Whats the case?

I believe there are some disease resistant fish but I think they are all susceptible to ich. Not entirely sure I will wait for someone to confirm.

I think I will treat the gobie as i would any other fish. Formalin dip on arrival, 5 transfers (TTM) incorporating prazipro.

ALL fish can get Ich. Some are just less prone to getting it than others.

So how does that work if you buy a the goby and commensal shrimp as a wild caught pair? Obviously the shrimp can't be dipped, wouldn't separating them make it unlikely they will pair up together later? Just curious.

They will pair back up. The pistol could go through a TTM as well (without treatment).

awhile I had Brook and my goby was in a qt for a few months while keeping system fallow.... when he went back into display he swam right into the pistol shrimp cave and the two of them went to rearranging my tank like they never missed a beat.

TTM to a pistol shrimp would do nothing. It's 72 days fallow for anything other than fish.
