My Hawaiian feather duster lost it's crown about a week ago. Yesterday night I saw half of his body coming out and I also saw what it look like a break at the top of his body near the head. I touched him and he retracted inside the tube. Later at noon I saw the body at the bottom of the tank. I thought it was dead but when I touched it seemed to move. Then an hour later I saw him in a different position. Perhaps due to the PH flow? But it was still whole. I checked again now and noticed the body underneath a rock and the head lying in the back on the sand.

Is it possible he is reproducing asexually or is it dead already?

The only inhabitants are a clownfish, a Fiji Blue Devil's Damsel, a blood red shrimp and a blue legged hermit.

Pleas advise...
